Congratulations to Ian Paterson and Bruce Harper on winning the usedcarparts.co.uk Solway Coast Rally, by only 1 second from Richard and Nancy Dickson. Mark McCulloch and Craig Wallace completed the all-Five of Clubs podium!
POINTS.
Points after Round 4 are now in the DOWNLOADS section, congratulations to those who finished and commiserations to those who didn't. Richard Dickson (Subaru Impreza) and James Robertson (Citroen C2R2) continue to lead tying on 34 points, followed by Iain Haining (Vauxhall Nova) on 31, and Ian Paterson (Subaru Impreza) on 30.
ROUND 5.
Regulations for the Hankook Merrick Stages are available to download from the event website, www.merrickstages.co.uk. Competitors may enter either the whole event, or the shorter 30-mile Glentrool Mini Rally. [Points will be awarded to all based on positions after SS4 when the Glentrool Mini Rally finishes. The only exception to this rule will be if nobody enters the Glentrool Mini Rally, then the whole event will count. Bulletin #2 will be issued before the event to clarify this.]
TEST DAY.
Solway Car Club are holding a Marshals Training Day on Saturday 17 July. This will double as a test for the Five of Clubs Rally Championship. The test will take place in Laurieston Forest, near Castle Douglas, and will start at 11am and finish at 3pm. The cost will be only £50 per car. This will be limited to 10 cars, and spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please contact the Coordinator if you would like to reserve a space.

We now have a tie on 26 points between Richard Dickson (Subaru Impreza) and James Robertson (Citroen C2), followed by last years Champion Iain Haining (Vauxhall Nova) on 21, and Peter Taylor (Ford Fiesta) and Ian Paterson (Subaru Impreza) tieing on 20 with two maximum scores each.
ROUND 4.
Regulations for the usedcarparts.co.uk Solway Coast Rally are available to download from the usedcarparts.co.uk website. The event will feature 36 stage miles (95% sealed surface) all for £224, with a compact route meaning that the rally will start at 10am and be finished by 2pm.

The 2010 Five of Clubs Rally Championship will be contested over seven events - Charterall, DW Construction Stages @ Hallburn, RSAC Scottish Rally, DA Autoparts Solway Coast Rally, Merrick Stages, Forrest Estate Rally and the Armstrong Galloway Hills Rally - where the five best scores will be count.
The championship points will be awarded on a class-based structure - i.e. someone in a 1400cc car has as much chance of winning the championship as someone in a 2000cc car - and there will be only ONE overall champion, winning a FREE ENTRY for the 2011 Armstrong Galloway Hills Rally worth nearly £500.
2010 Championship Regulations, pending MSA approval, will be available in the near future, in the DOWNLOADS section.
The 2010 Five of Clubs Rally Championship will be jointly supported by John Gibson & Sons [Blacksmiths & Engineers, Dumfries], Craigiebank Garage [Mouswald], Rosefield Salvage [Metal Recycling, Dumfries] and Franklin Steel [Dumfries].

Congratulations to Iain Haining and Mairi Riddick on winning the 2009 Five of Clubs Rally Championship in their 1600cc Vauxhall Nova. Steven Smith (Peugeot 205) snd Stuart Cant (Peugeot 205/Subaru Impreza) finished as runners up.
The Prizegiving will take place on Saturday 27 February 2010 at the Five Arches, Annan Road, Dumfries. As well as the presentation of awards, there will be a buffet, a disco and a raffle [donations of prizes would be welcomed].
