Five of Clubs History

Five of Clubs History

Back in the 70's, the organisers of six car clubs local to SW Scotland decided to organise a rally championship. As each club all ready had a rally on it's calendar,it was decided to call the championship the 'Six of Clubs' Championship. The idea was to promote a class based championship, that any car in any class could win overall.

Later, one club was disbanded and it became the Five of Clubs Championship.

After running successfully for a number of years, the championship was put into mothballs due to a lack of venues (Hallburn, Rhins, and the Machars rally) which were used for other purposes.

In mid 2005, it was decided that the feelers would be put out to see if there was enough interest locally to revive the championship, as a lot of people were all competiting on the same events together anyway.

After three successful seasons we are now entering our fourth year in 2009. We have attracted amazing sponsorship from local companies which has allowed us to offer some great prizes for the season ahead, along with subsidised testing facilities.
